  • Directed an initiative for Ampex Recording Systems that reduced product cost by 20% and improved efficiencies by implementing an end-to-end lean manufacturing system. Lean manufacturing principles were applied across all factory operations including cable assemblies, machining centers, product test, warehousing and shipping. The factory was able to free up 60,000 square feet in a 280,000 square foot facility. The factory received the Oliver Wight World Class Manufacturing Award for the successful transition to lean manufacturing from a classic manufacturing operation.

  • Established a cycle count process at Ampex Data Systems which achieved 98.5 percent accuracy rate allowing for the elimination of the bi-annual physical inventory.

  • Initiated and project managed Ampex Supplier Certification processes which eliminated 85 percent of the incoming inspection of material. This initiative eliminated the incoming inspection bottlenecks, increased throughput, reduced scrap and rework, and reduced returned material rates by 95 percent.

  • Directed the team at Ampex Data systems that reduced manufacturing defects and customer returns by 50 percent by the implementation of an SPC process on the manufacturing floor. The SPC process led to the elimination of assembly inspection and reduced production cycle time by 15 percent.

  • Collaborated with a major EMS partner to successfully implement a value engineering program which realized shared annual cost reduction of approximately one million dollars

  • Leader of the cost reduction team at AVAYA which partnered with procurement, quality, engineering, and contract manufacturers. This program realized an annual ten percent total product cost improvement.

  • Directed at Ampex a program which reduced customer response time to less than one hour by the implementation of an automated tracking system in Customer Service.

  • Project manager of the team at Ampex that successfully implemented on time and within budget an integrated real time, actual cost MRP system.

  • Pioneered Data Systems first ever turnkey outsourcing operation which increased flexibility on the production floor and reduced product cost by 10 percent in its first year in operation.
