  • Directed an initiative for Compaq Computer to redesign the Demand Management process to include Customer Collaboration and to leverage the transition to an Assemble-To-Order Business Model. Traveled extensively in Europe to collaborate, sell, train, and implement the new processes and systems. Also supported the implementation of an SCM solution for the U.S. Retail Business Unit. Both initiatives leveraged software applications from SAP and i2.

  • Directed an end-to-end supply chain transformation for Sweetheart Cup Company. Improved on-time delivery performance from 59% to 95%+ and earned Class “A” Certifications for 15 North American manufacturing facilities. Transitioned the firm to a Lean Manufacturing & Make-To-Order business model that significantly reduced inventory and cycle times. A Capable-To-Promise process improved service levels on special orders to 95%+ and reduced lead times by 75%. Conducted certification audits to verify new business processes and to document best practices for sharing across the organization.

  • Advised Alpine Electronics on improvements to their SCM processes and systems used for Demand Management, Master Planning, and Purchasing. Helped them establish capabilities to leverage Best Practices such as Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Performance Measurements, Financial Analysis of Demand, Consensus Forecasting, and Integrated Inventory Planning. The initiative leveraged software applications from Oracle and i2.

  • Thought leadership advisor for Hewlett-Packard on lean enterprises. Created a series of 10 articles on the applicability and benefits of lean enterprises to converters and specialty printers. Created case studies of converters and specialty printers that have successfully implemented lean techniques while leveraging digital printing technology from Hewlett-Packard. Conducted educational presentations on lean enterprises at various industry events.

  • Founder of Transformance Advisors, a firm specializing in advising supply chain executives in the transformation of their companies to higher performance. Directed the development of a series of seminars which are offered as public events, in collaboration with organizations such as APICS, and also via private internal company classes. Direct the firm’s market strategy, manage business development activities, and manage client engagements. Key clients for consulting and education include Hewlett-Packard, Texas Instruments, Warner Home Video, Heraeus, and Talley Communications.

  • Built the Demand Management and Master Planning capabilities of the SCM practice for eJiva Consulting. Accomplishments included designing the marketing strategy, managing client engagements, conducting pre-sales presentations, performing opportunity assessments, writing/delivering proposals, and recruiting/training consultants. Directed a team of twenty consultants on engagements with clients such as Sony Consumer Electronics, Nortel, Ciba Vision, Cummins Engine, Mercury Marine, Nike, and Sharon Tube.

  • Conducted an assessment for IBM NUMA-Q on Demand Management, Master Planning, and Purchasing. Identified business objectives, analyzed current processes, created a customized configuration of software to demonstrate high performance SCM processes, and developed an implementation strategy which included requirements for the integration of Oracle and i2 to provide a real-time Available-To-Promise capability.

  • Directed the Demand Management, Distribution/Inventory Planning, Master Scheduling, and Purchasing processes for Sweetheart Cup Company. Demonstrated an outstanding ability to recruit, train, and motivate people for superior performance. Leveraged the application of technology solutions and continuous process improvement to improve service levels, reduce costs, and shorten cycle times.

  • Advised Talley Communications on improvements to their SCM organization and processes such as Receiving, Shipping, Scheduling, Cycle Counting, and Production Assembly. Conducted educational sessions on Business Process Reengineering and Performance Measurements. Helped management energize employees to participate in the initiative and make the improvements required for ISO certification.

  • Conducted a Benchmarking study on Best Practices in Managing Imbalances in Demand and Supply. Collaborated with companies such as Texas Instruments, NCR, Whirlpool, Pacific Cycle, and others to identify those practices which lead to superior performance and can be transferred across industries.

  • Conducted assessments of SCM processes/systems for companies such as ABB, Alliant Food Service, Amkor Technology, Anchor Food Products, Art Castings of Colorado, Belkin Components, Gateway, Heraeus, International Surface Preparation, and Universal Stainless Steel.

  • Directed the development of three public training courses for eJiva Consulting which taught Best Practices and the use of tools from i2 (Demand Planner, Supply Chain Planner, and Factory Planner) to drive high performance processes. Training clients included Sony Electronics, Thomson Consumer Electronics, and 3M.
